Opportunities are now available to apply for Fire Safety Inspector positions within Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service’s Protection function. These roles form an integral part of the Protection Team. The postholders are required to maintain competence against the NFCC Competency Framework for Fire Safety Regulators so as to be able to assess and audit risks associated with fire safety. They will provide advice on fire safety measures and regulate fire safety legislation by inspecting premises and plans to minimise risk to our communities and our operational personnel. Furthermore, fire safety inspectors support the delivery of the Protection functional delivery plan across a range of specialist areas including, but not limited to:
- Enforcements & Prosecutions
- Explosives & Petroleum
- Training, development & assurance
- Stakeholder engagement (including the Primary Authority Scheme)
- Fire Engineering
- Building Safety Regulator
- Local Remediation Acceleration Plans
- Events & Campaigns
- Data & Intelligence
- Operational Engagement
Your journey as an inspector will start at the development level with your salary increasing to full competent status after successfully satisfying the requisite criteria at each of the development stages, details of which are contained in the job profile.
Successful applicants will initially undertake their inspector role at one of our 4 district locations (City Centre, Belle Vale, Bootle/Netherton or Wallasey).
This role is offered as a Fixed Term contract.
